"WHERE DO I BEGIN"
Music by Francis Lai. Words by Carl SigmanWhere Do I Begin to tell the story
of how great a love can be,The sweet love story that is older than the sea,
The simple truth about the love she brings to me ?Where do I start ?
With her first hello she gave a meaning
to this empty world of mine;There'd never be another love, another time;
She came into my life and made the living fine.She fills my heart,
with angel songs, with wild imaginings.
She fills my soul with so much lovethat anywhere I go, I'm never lonely.
With her along, who could be lonely ?I reach for her hand, it's always there.
How long does it last ?
Can love be measured by the hours in a day ?I have no answers now, but this much I can say:
I know I'll need her till the stars all burn awayand she'll be there.

Story plot (Love Story 1970):
ReplyDeleteAgainst his father’s wishes, upper-class Harvard student Oliver marries Jenny, a girl from a poor Italian family. After some struggle, Oliver finishes law school and the young couple are about to start a family when Jenny is found to be gravely ill. Oliver is forced to borrow money from his estranged father for her medical expenses. When Jenny dies, Oliver rejects his father's attempts to console him, going to Central Park where he recalls his time with her.
Some people say the story bears remarkable resemblance to cliche Chinese story lines - a rich kid who forsakes his own family, marries a girl from a poor family, and makes it, then cancer strikes. This movie was a big, big hit in Hongkong. I think probably a big hit in Taiwan too?
