An old song by Opus (YouTube video)
Life is a routine and can be boring.
Everyone has routines in their life, and I am no exception.
There have been many routines in my life, often monotonous, that
seem to be repetitive and virtually unchanging.
Nevertheless, despite the fact that the routines may be boring, we
need routines to live and perhaps to enjoy as well.
For example, my wife and I take our daily late evening walk around
the neighborhood, and weekly gentle hiking on the Westwood Hills,
just a mile away in the Valley. These are good exercises, and are
known to be good for the mind, body and soul.

I enjoy my weekly yard maintenance work, which is often a 3-4 hour's
worth of exercise. I find myself refreshed and rewarded each time after
the work has been completed.
Every other weekend, we visit Palo Alto, where my son lives. After
having the “Bento Box” at “Miyaki”, we enjoy a nice leisure stroll along
University Avenue. In the afternoon, once again, I did my favorite garden
work around the house, but this time at my son's house, while my wife
visits her sisters who live nearby in this town.
On the way back to the Valley the following morning, we stop at Irving
Street in San Francisco, where my wife purchases a two-week supply
of Chinese groceries, vegetables and fruits at “新世界”, and orders “dim
sum” at “永利”. After that, we have our “點心” for lunch in the Golden
Gate Park as usual.
It is always a pleasant drive passing through the Golden Gate Bridge,
where we often see “海藍帆逾白”, or “雲淡山更佳”, and the theme http://youtu.be/OdvCqUguIh8 (If You're Going To San Francisco)
simultaneously cames back to me.
Driving back through the Valley’s rolling hills, we see the unique
seasonal changes of the vineyard scenery.
Life is a routine, but not necessarily boring.
