I did not believe that my NTUMC 1968 classmate 陳定信 got 登上
"壹週刊" when I ............ .
A couple of months ago, one of my NTUMC classmates sent me a copy
of a report printed in "壹週刊". The article, entitled "肝的色彩", was
"圖文並茂" with a photo of 陳定信.
It turned out, of course, that the "report" had nothing to do with "爆料"
or even "緋聞". which have been known to often appear in "壹週刊".
It was an article describing the "心路歷程" of his lifelong hepatitis
research work, and why and how he got into this research field.
陳定信 and I were classmates from middle school through college,
and we had our residency training together in the Department of
Internal Medicine at NTUH for three years after graduation.
If I need only one sentence to characterize 陳定信 through my many
years of observation, that is: He was not a "書呆子".
As a matter of
fact, he was quite "調皮,淘氣" in the middle school, and he often gave
teachers plenty of minor headaches.

His academic work is best described in the editorial comment by
李遠哲 on the book "肝炎鬥士-陳定信" published by 遠哲科學教育
