When Scenery and Poem Match

Once in a while during our trips, some scenery would remind me pieces of the old Chinese classic poems.

Last spring, when we returned from Glen Canyon and was driving through Mt. Zion National Park in the evening, I saw the nice evening fog blanked the valley and a few birds rushing over. The scene reminded me "山氣日夕佳 飛鳥相與還".

In the fall of the year 2003, we took a tour to Japan before attending our class reunion in Taiwan. While visiting a Japanese temple, I saw crows everywhere, walking on the ground, resting on the trees or top of the shrines, or flying in the sky. I heard the drum or bell at times. The scene brought me 佛狸祠下,一片神鴉社鼓.
