楓橋夜泊
月落鳥啼霜滿天,江楓漁火對愁眠。
姑蘇城外寒山寺,夜半鐘聲到客船。
This is another everlasting old Chinese classic poem written during the "Southern and Northern Dynasty" period. Hanshan Temple (or Cold Mountain Temple) is sitting by the Fuong Chyau (Maple Bridge), west of the old city of Su Zhou. It is a popular site for the tourists, especially ones from Japan. The very original bell is believed to have been taken to Japan in ancient time. Last year, our classmate Anchi and his spouse toured the place while having a family visit to see their old relatives there. They were however not very impressed at what they saw. Yeh Tze |

This is one of my most favorite poems, but I am not eager to visit the Hanshan Temple. I want to preserve my poetic fantasies of the temple; I don't want it to be destroyed by reality, such as crowdedness and commercialization. I don't mind the fees, but it is too overbearing for me to wait in line and strike the Hanshan Bell. It would destroy my childhood dream. tlee
