State of Mind

Wang Guo Wei (王國維), a scholar, writer and poet, once stated that, before accomplishing a great task, you need to undergo and endure three "state of mind", which are:
  • 第一境界：昨夜西風凋碧樹，獨上高樓，望盡天涯路。(引自晏殊的《蝶戀花》)
  • 第二境界：衣帶漸寬終不悔，為伊消得人憔悴。（引自柳永的《蝶戀花》）
  • 第三境界：眾里尋他千百度，驀然回首，那人卻在燈火闌珊處。(引自辛棄疾的《青玉案·元夕》)

    Did Wang Guo Wei imply 1) solitude and independence,2) determination, faith and sacrifice ,3) destiny ? Please help and Happy New Year to all!

    That are exactly the three stages of "state of mind" during the course of one's successful career.
