Chinese Poem

【永遇樂‧京口北固亭懷古】　　　　錄自四印齋本稼軒長短句千古江山，英雄無覓，孫仲謀處。　　舞榭歌台，風流總被，雨打風吹去。　　斜陽草樹，尋常巷陌，人道寄奴曾住。　　想當年金戈鐵馬，氣吞萬裡如虎。　　元嘉草草，封狼居胥，贏得倉皇北顧。　　四十三年，望中猶記，烽火揚州路。　　可堪回首，佛狸祠下，一片神鴉社鼓。　　憑誰問，廉頗老矣，尚能飯否？　　

During my high school years, there were always some old classic Chinese poems in the"guo wen ker ben "(Chinese literature teaching books). Our "guo wen lau shih" or Chinese Literature teacher often requested us to memorized the entire pieces of the poems. Although we were more or less having some fun reading them, we did it mostly for the examinations and grade .

Now 50 plus years later, I have even more much fun reading them, and while reading them, I seem to be able to memorize part of them.

In a recent trip with our classmates, we were very amazed that Wang Jin Wen was able to read, or more correctly sing, the whole piece of "長恨歌 " by 白居易 without interruption or making any mistake. He said he had tried to memorized most of the old Chinese classic poems in order to continue to stimulate his brain cells and to prevent from getting "Alzheimer".
