The Dad Mug on my desk is a pottery mug made by the "Toscany Collection" in 1982.
It was given to me as a Father’s Day gift by my children a quarter of a century ago.
I had kept it on my office desk at my workplace until five years ago when I officially retired from my full-time work.
I have since stopped using the mug for my coffee or tea. I let it retire with me.
It has since been placed on my computer desk at home. It brings sweet and aromatic memories.
Around the mug, there is a printed essay entitled “DAD” written by Barbara Smallwood and Glen Taylor.
The "MugDad" thoughts are about father - a message from grown child to father.
The essay begins with an elegant quotation:
"Becoming a father is easy enough, but being one can be rough. ....................................... ."
It ends, "Thanks for everything. I love you Dad."
It is a priceless gift that I will treasure for the rest of my life.
