When I am 100 years old
In my grandson's school, in honor of the 100th day of school, the kindergarteners were asked by their teacher to write a few lines about being 100 years old.
He wrote:
"I wood (would) luc (look) lice (like) old. I wood (would) get bod (bald)".
That is probably true. It is certainly true for me, even at my present age.
I then ask myself, besides what I will be, what I will do when I am 100 years old, or if I were 100 years old.
One thing I will do is to go through what I had written in my blog to find out "Things said or done long years ago, or things I did not do or say but thought that I might say or do." I may tell myself then, in some instances, what I should have done or said, or shouldn't have done or said.
What I have written in my blog is journal writing, the “New Diary", which is beyond the rigid calendar diary.
In the book "The New Diary", written by Tristine Rainer, it said:
"The diary is the genre of the present moment. And on the continuum of time between past and future, the present moment is the point of power from which you can influence the meaning and direction of your life. The present moment contains all you have experienced, felt, and thought in your lifetime…. It also contains the seeds of all you are to become. The present moment is the portal to past and future, and the diary is the vehicle that enables you to travel into both dimensions."

Writing a diary is similar to writing an autobiography of your life. It is good to look back at the things you have written & have accomplished! Reading comments from acquaintances & friends are interesting & fun to read as well! The more you age the more you gain knowledge & wit. /LT
