The Gnarled Old Oak

When our children were attending the school here over a decade ago, they mentioned to us about "Stanford Dish" and its surrounding hiking trails, the "Stanford Dish loop". They often suggested that we should go there and take a stroll when we came to the campus to see them.

We however did not find a chance to do so.

The other day, we did so and did it with our children and grandchildren.

The "Dish loop" is a popular route for Stanford University students, faculty members and the "Palo Altans". Its steep paved trail is suitable for running, walking, and hiking.

While we were enjoying a nice sunny morning, strolling through the path, I particularly found those gnarled old oak trees along the trails to be quite unique and inspirational, especially at this time of year.
