Do you know what "Egg-calm" means?

According to “urbandictionary.com”, this is a word from the Chinese Twitter named Weibo. It means calm down or relax. It is a pop expression in Chinese. This is the direct translation from the sound-transformed of that Chinese word: "蛋定", or "淡定". It is a 中国式英语, or so called "Chinglish".

"淡定" has been a popular word used in Taiwan these days. Certainly, it was not a word that I was aware of during my time there before 1972.

It is actually a word used by the people in Mainland China. It is said to have the same meaning of "冷靜".

I presume "淡定" means "self-composed and sensible" in English, and perhaps "老神在在" in Taiwanese.

IMC, a classmate of mine in the NTUMC1968 class, who also used to be known as "趙博士", every so often forwarded to me some "人生哲理"s.

A few weeks ago, he sent me an e-mail with a ppt attachment entitled "淡定". I have since captured the real meaning of "淡定".

While I was searching for the meaning of "淡定", I also came across a black tea called "淡定紅茶". I think I should try it the next time we are in Taiwan, perhaps to become a "淡定哥"
