"有酒矸通賣嘸 ？"

阮是十三囝仔丹，自小父母就真散（貧），
為著生活不敢懶，每日出去收酒矸，
有酒矸通賣嘸？歹銅仔舊錫簿仔紙通賣嘸？
每日透早就出門，家家戶戶去加問，
為著打拚顧三當，不驚路頭怎樣遠，
有酒矸通賣嘸？歹銅仔舊錫簿仔紙通賣嘸？
頂日去迺太平通，今日就行大龍峒，
為著生活會妥當，不驚大雨和大風，
有酒矸通賣嘸？歹銅仔舊錫簿仔紙通賣嘸？




“收酒矸”(Old Glass Bottles) , along with "燒肉粽”(Hot Rice Dumplings),
both written by 張邱冬松, and “補破網”(Mending a Broken Net) by
lyricist 李臨秋, were the old classics during the“不景氣的年代” in
Taiwan after the war. As these songs were once being used by the
Chinese Communist for propaganda purpose (depicting 台灣民生困苦),
the Taiwan authority had placed them in the list of “禁歌” then.

My NTUMC1968 classmate, James Chen, has been a guitarist,
music composer and song writer ever since our college years.
We have been amazed by his music talent, and astonished by his
“唱作俱佳” as well.
