故人西辭黃鶴樓，煙花三月下揚州；
孤帆遠影碧空盡，唯見長江天際流。

The ancient poet 李白 depicted March as "煙花三月" because
he perceived 黃鶴樓 and 長江's landscape “繁花盛開”,“如煙如霧”.
March is the busy month for flowering plants, especially
the fruit trees, 李花白, 桃花紅, vividly showing off their Best.

So long to the Blooming month of March, or "煙花三月" !
We are now looking forward to the month of April, “人間四月天”.

ReplyDeleteon the Chinese lunar calendar is actually April-May on the Gregorian calendar.
I presume there was only lunar calendar month in the Tang Dynasty.
