After having toured Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks with our grandchildren, we continued to make another trip to Yosemite NP, where they had also visited together with us four years ago. This time, we toured mainly the Mirror Lake and Tuolumne Meadows.
Mirror Lake
"Situated in Tenaya Canyon directly between North Dome and Half Dome, it is the last remnant of a large glacial lake that once filled most of Yosemite Valley at the end of the last Ice Age, and is close to disappearing due to sediment accumulation." (Wikipedia)
Tuolumne Meadows
While Muir guided a flock of 2,000 sheep to the Tuolumne Meadows in the High Sierra, he studied the flora and fauna and sketched the mountain scenery.
