"天寶遺事"

今古楓林城，楓葉寂寞红； 白頭老翁在，閑坐說同窗。         今•葉子•楓城


There is an old Chinese literary allusion : "白頭宮女話天寶遺事".

Those "white-hair" 宮女s had shared their life experiences or 所見所聞 in the Imperial Court. Although their stories were all 開元陳年往事, they were real with no editing and were said to be "入木三分".

In response to my recent blog posts, my NTUMC classmate ZWC said: "Your recent two postings remind me of my old age. Senior citizen tends to recall good old memories."

Another friend wrote "It echoes with my memories of school days, friends and classmates ….. . And reading those posts rub off some energy on me too."

I replied to them: "Good old memories need to be kept alive before they fade away."

It is hard to forget someone, especially good old friends, who gave you so much to remember.

It has been said: "Sometimes you will never know the true value of a moment until it becomes a memory."
               
At my "白頭" age, I consider every memory is precious, whether it is a bad one or a good one. They overall made me for who I am today and therefore I refuse to let any of them go.

Every time I think of good old memories, I often start smiling.
