Half a century ago in 1961, Alfred Hitchcock returned to Sonoma County, Northern California, to find a remote coastal location for his next project “The Birds”. He chose Bodega Bay.
The movie was based on a short story by Daphne DuMaurier, an English writer. The original story took place in an English seashore village where murderous birds attacked the local villagers.
It was more than 30 years ago when we first drove by this place with our children sitting in the back seat. We visited there because of "The Birds".
The other day, we spent half a day there, but, this time, we came with both our children and grandchildren.
While watching our children play ball, throw Frisbee and the grandchildren play sand on the beach, I also took great pleasure of inspecting the nature's beauty along the seashore. I particularly enjoyed the sight of colorful blooming flowers on the sand dunes at this time of the year.
It has been said that nature never goes out of style.
It was a lovely day.

What a coincidence! We watched the old Alfred Hitchcock's movie
ReplyDelete"The Birds" at home recently. A pride to boast by Northern Californians our endless natural elements and beautiful flowering plants growing around almost all year long.
Inspiring to walk around the bay and beaches to admire the flowers blooming on the sand dunes. Nature has its way to outlive us!
