Malvina Reynolds (1900-1978) was born in San Francisco. She attended
the University of California at Berkley, where she earned her B.A. M.A.,
and Ph.D. degree.

She was a leftist political activist and wrote numerous songs.
Pete Seeger’s recording of one of her songs, “Little Boxes”, was a popular
hit in 1963.
