Colors of Walden Pond

一八四五年夏天
自然主義家
亨利梭羅
有一段
"Shelter-in-Place"

不是避疫
而是避開人類文明
遠離城市
吸取生命的精華

他在瓦爾登湖畔
築了一小屋
嘗試人生最簡樸的
隠居生活

在湖邊
獨處深思
寄情於大自然
兩年兩月又兩天
逍遙自在

其實
他的生活
也很無聊

每天坐在小屋前
看日出
甚至
花上幾個小時
觀賞螞蟻混戰
....

湖面是什麼顔色
梭羅也注意到了

那要看
季節 天候 時辰
從何處看
那個方向看
看湖中的那個點

他的 "湖濱散記" 裏
有一頁多
不厭其煩地描述

他看到的顔色包括

yellowish tinge
light green
green tint
vivid green
dark green
vitreous greenish blue
light blue
dark blue
.....

他說

Walden is blue at one time
and green at another
even from the same point of view

當人在
shelter-in-place
有的是時間
還有
你的閒
