More than a week ago, after having paid a visit to a solo art exhibition in Chicago, my NTUMC classmate, SNC, shared this post with me,
That was the time I first learned that she was an art lover.
After graduation, as one of the very few of my classmates who went into the field of basic medical science, she pursued biomedical research at Northwestern University, and retired as emeritus professor a few years ago.
In 2009, after her retirement, she started her second career and enrolled in Palette & Chisel Academy of Fine Arts in Chicago, began her formal training as a painter.
She is now an official member of this art academy and an associate member of OPA (Oil Painters of America).
She has painted numerous paintings, which we can enjoy by logging in to her personal blog:

She has also held several exhibitions, both solo and group.
Besides her love of oil painting, she is a well-known writer as well. She has send numerous articles, mostly opera critics, to "World Journal", a Chinese newspaper published in North America.
In December 2013, I had the honor to obtain one of her oil paintings with the title "The Dawn Of Life".
It was a painting of my grandchildren, for which I posted a write-up "A Tale Of An Oil Painting" on my own blog, "The Yehtze File", dated February 10, 2014.
This painting hanging on the wall of my living room has always been a subject of discussion and appreciation every time my classmates or friends visited me in my house.
