"Dove Dark Chocolate"

"Dove Dark Chocolate"

I like Valentine’s Day. It is not because I am fond of Valentine’s Day.

As a matter of fact, as being the golden agers, we just don’t celebrate Valentine’s Day.

The genuine reason that I like Valentine’s Day is that I like the day after Valentine’s Day.

The reason I like the day after Valentine’s Day is that I can buy, a lot of, my favorite Dark
Chocolate at a significantly redued price.

I love chocolate, especially the dark chocolate.

I love dark chocolate not because of its many alleged "health benefits", for "men" in particular. (see comment below)

I like it simply because of its soothing, sweet, but not too sweet, taste, and the feeling of the slow gentle melting of it on my tongue, the "Silky Smooth Promises" as it claims.

Therefore, every year, on the day after Valentine’s Day, I buy months’ worth supply of discounted dark chocolate. "Dove Dark Chocolate" is the one I favor. It is beautifully, individually wrapped.

I, however, have been instructed by the boss in the house that I am only to have the enjoyment of consuming no more than two pieces a day.  Accordingly, I enjoy one piece twice a day, one after lunch and one after dinner.

Now I even feel thrilled each time I unwrap a square of "Dove Dark Chocolate", preparing for the self-indulgent pleasure.

Dark Chocolate is included in the Healing Foods Pyramid™ as part of a balanced, whole foods, plant-based diet.

    Why choose dark chocolate?

•Contains flavonoids called procyanidins & epicatechins; flavonoids are part of a group of antioxidants known as polyphenols and are found in a variety of foods including dark chocolate, tea, red wine, and various fruits and vegetables
    •Decreases LDL (“bad”) cholesterol oxidation
•Reduces the risk of blood clots
•Increases blood flow in arteries and the heart
    •May lower high blood pressure
•Cocoa may have a beneficial effect on cholesterol levels because it consists mainly of stearic acid and oleic acid. Stearic acid is a saturated fat, but unlike most saturated fatty acids, it does not raise blood cholesterol levels. Oleic acid, a monounsaturated fat, does not raise cholesterol and may even reduce it.
•May improve mood and pleasure by boosting serotonin and endorphin levels in the brain
•Regular intake is associated with better cognitive performance in the elderly
•Contains a number of minerals, including calcium, magnesium, and potassium
