The lady with her arms "akimbo" is intelligent, confident and authoritative; and she reminds me of W.H., the girl I had mentioned in my prior post: January 8, 2014 "Did You Have My Permission To ........ ?".

WH is a classmate of mine from the NTUMC1968 Class. She retired from a renowned university in the United States four years ago and has since enjoyed her retirement living.

She writes (with her writings often published in major Chinese newspapers) and she paints (mostly portraits and human figures, especially children). I have enjoyed her paintings as much as I had enjoyed her writings.

A few weeks ago, she wrote to me and asked me if she could make a painting by using a photo I had posted in my Blog: December 26, 2013 From "Sonoma Square" to "Cornerstone Sonoma" .

It was a picture I had taken when my two grandchildren were playing together in a park, concentrating on the small stones they had collected to see who had the best. In her e-mail she said: "It's a lovely picture (with 2 kids playing)".  The little boy is my oldest daughter’s younger son from the East Coast, and the little girl is my younger daughter’s oldest daughter from the West Coast.

I replied to her that it would be our great honor to have her paint the picture.

Today, she sent me another e-mail with a photo (painting) attachment and asked me if I recognized the painting, which is an oil painting of my two grandchildren playing together!

She humbly stated that she still needed to work on the details.

I am extremely amazed by her talent, dedication and skill.
