I Sit and Think, ....

The Thinker

“Sometimes I sits and thinks, and sometimes I just sits...”
- Satchel Paige Baseball player (1906 - 1982) -

He might have had it right.

”To sit and think or just to sit” are essential over the course of one’s life.

李白, sitting on his bed, thinking and reminiscing about his homeland,
composed this famous poem “靜夜思”:

床前明月光,疑是地上霜; 舉頭望明月,低頭思故鄉。

While being 獨坐敬亭山, he wrote:

眾鳥高飛盡,孤雲獨去閑。相看兩不厭,只有敬亭山 。

李白 liked to sit and think.

蘇軾,  in his “靜坐養生” ,  said:

無事此靜坐,一日如兩日,人活七十年,我活百四十。

He built a "息軒" and practiced his "靜坐養生法".

When we were young, we sat and thought about the future; even it was a
“白日夢”.

Now, “人活七十年”,  most of the time I sit and think, but sometimes I
just sit, and occasionally I sit and go to sleep."  Am I going to live more
than "百四十" ?

  2. Very funny and thanks. I go with the flow of life. I enjoy most the peace of mind, whether I sit, work, sleep, think, or taking a walk....tl
