海上生明月 天涯共此時




The Mid-Autumn Festival, also known as the Moon Festival, or in
Chinese 中秋節, falls on October 3rd this year, which is today.
It always brings forth sense of nostalgia.

露從今夜白，月是故鄉明。

My childhood memory of 中秋節 is eating moon cakes under the
bright round moon and watching the lantern display in the temple.

Every time we talked about 明月, these two ancient classical poems
would arise in our minds:

靜夜思 唐 李白

床前明月光, 疑是地上霜。
舉頭望明月, 低頭思故鄉。

and

水調歌頭 宋 蘇軾

明月幾時有？ 把酒問青天，
不知天上宮闕， 今夕是何年？
我欲乘風歸去， 又恐瓊樓玉宇，
高處不勝寒， 起舞弄清影， 何似在人間。
轉朱閣，低綺戶， 照無眠，不應有恨，
何似長像別時圓， 人有悲歡離合，
月有陰晴圓缺， 自古兩難全，
但願人長久， 千里共嬋娟 !

西北望鄉何處是，東南見月幾回圓。
昨風一吹無人會，今夜清光似往年。
